Zicam

Zicam is a cold and allergy remedy that includes the ingredient zinc. The name is derived from the word zinc and 'ICAM-1' with the latter being the receptor to which a rhinovirus binds itself in order to infect cells. The drug is administered for the relief of nasal congestion due to a variety of allergic and infectious disorders of the upper respiratory tract such as allergies, hay fever sinus congestion and the common cold.
